Opening of School

Posted Date: 01/24/2023

Dear Hurlbutt Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday, September 8.  This will certainly be a unique year.  The global pandemic has created many changes and challenges to opening the school year.   As we work through the countless details of opening school we will continue sending information to you via email.  Teachers return to work on August 31, so classroom specific information will not be available until after that date.

I know you may have questions and concerns about the reopening of school.  Rest assured that what has not changed is the dedication and commitment of the caring staff that makes Hurlbutt such a special place.  Whether you choose in person instruction or voluntary distance learning, we will partner with you to make this year a great experience for all.

Attached please find the following information:

  • A sample schedule of a grade 1, 2 or kindergarten classroom.  (ELC students are with their classroom teacher for the school day and those schedules will be sent by the teachers at the beginning of September)
  • A schedule highlighting blue and gold cohort days for the first month of school.
  • Suggested school supply lists for each grade level  Please note that school supplies will not be shared between students.  Pack the supplies that fit into the pencil box and send them with your child on their first day of school.  Other supplies can also be sent in their backpack.  Please have some supplies at home for your child to use on their “at-home” day.

Stay tuned! More information to follow in the coming weeks including information about our Meet the Teacher Event and Back to School Nights.

Sincerely,

Laura J. Kaddis

Principal
