North House Playground

Dear Hurlbutt and WIS families,

The North House playground at Hurlbutt will be undergoing an exciting renovation starting this Wednesday.

During our extensive NH renovation project, the entire North House playground area will be fenced off and closed to the public.  This includes the access through the area.  We know that families and children from WIS frequent this area to save time when walking back and forth between the buildings.  For the next several weeks, this area will not be accessible.

Pedestrians walking from Hurlbutt to WIS or from WIS to Hurlbutt will have to remain on the School Road sidewalk that travels down School Road to the traffic light and then back up to the entrance of Hurlbutt.  This is a longer path so if you plan on continuing to walk between the buildings you will need to allow for extra time.  Passing through the Hurlbutt bus loop is not an option as it interferes with their boarding of buses. We know that this may cause many families to default to driving and dropping off students by car to both buildings. We strongly recommend that WIS families suspend the use of the walking option to and from Hurlbutt until this project is complete.

We appreciate your cooperation during our playground renovation.  As soon as the project is complete we will send out notification that the area is open again for pedestrians and safe play.

We look forward to the opening of this wonderful addition to our school and community.

Sincerely,

Laura Kaddis            Patricia Falber
