Dear Families,
Happy New Year! We are so happy to be back in session. Our students and staff came back ready to learn and excited to share stories of their winter break. These next few weeks are predicted to feel like winter with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. We will be outdoors for recess whenever possible, so please continue to send your students with clothing that will keep them warm and comfortable for play. Below are some events and important upcoming dates including the special Board of Education meeting on the budget this Monday night which can be accessed through this link on the Weston Public Schools website. Essay Opportunity
Senator Murphy’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest is open for submissions. Students from elementary, middle, and high schools from across Connecticut are invited to participate in honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by submitting essays that reflect on Dr. King’s dream, their own aspirations, and the importance of what Dr. King means to them.
Submissions are open and must be received by Saturday, January 11th at 11:59 PM. Essays can be submitted online via the Google Form or mailed to our Hartford Office. Essay instructions can be found on their website through this link, Essay Contest information.
