Dear Families,
Last week we held our spring family conferences. It was a great week of conversations about student progress and goals for the remainder of the year. We appreciate the flexibility of our families with the schedule changes and for making time for these important meetings. If for any reason you were unable to attend a conference last week, please reach out to your child's teacher to schedule one within the next few weeks. We strive for 100% participation in our conferences. Please note the following schedule change for this coming week. Our teachers will be engaged in a full day of professional development on Friday, March 21. School will be closed this Friday, March 21 for students.
School Assembly
Our monthly PBIS school assembly will take place on Tuesday, March 18. This month’s theme focuses on the importance of being kind to ourselves and incorporating positive affirmations throughout the day. To show school spirit, students are encouraged to wear Hurlbutt gear or our school colors—black, white, and yellow. We look forward to celebrating together!

New Director of Security Reminder
Families have the opportunity to meet the new Director of Safety and Security, Mr. James Wiltsie, in March. There are two Meet the Director programs. The first was held on Thursday, March 13 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Weston Middle School. The second will be at the HES/WIS PTO meeting on Wednesday, March 26 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the WIS cafeteria. You do not have to be in the HES/WIS PTO to join this meeting. We encourage you to attend one of these meetings.
Music in our Schools Month
We continue to spotlight our exceptional music programs in Weston with building-wide activities and in-school performances featuring student musicians. We encourage members of our community to acknowledge and celebrate music education as an essential part of every student’s educational journey!
At Hurlbutt Elementary School, we will feature “Musical Moments” on our morning announcements each week. School-wide Musical Moments will include Mystery Moments, Movement Moments, and Meditative Moments.
