Dear Families, This week was our first full week of school and we filled the honeyhive! It was a great way to end the week. Today, we had our first all school assembly to learn about being safe, kind and responsible on the bus. We also celebrated all of our summer reading and math activities. Our students are adjusting to being back in school and they have busy days here. It is normal for students to be tired or emotional at the end of the school day. It is helpful to build in some unstructured time after school when possible and to be mindful of balancing this with after school activities. Unstructured play time is especially important for young children and is an important component of their development. Children and adults can struggle when schedules are full and downtime or unstructured time is limited. Dismissal Manager Many after school programs have started so please be sure to check your School Dismissal Manager plans daily. If for some reason, your child’s after school program is canceled, you will need to change their plans in Dismissal Manager. The deadline for dismissal changes is 1:00 p.m. on a regular school day. On an early dismissal day the deadline is 10:00 a.m. for changes. A Message from the Hurlbutt PTO President Our annual PTO membership drive is OPEN!
